Get Involved
DOCARE offers a number of ways for those interested to become involved. Volunteering for a mission is the option that most people are aware of, but there are plenty of ways to help out even if you can't participate in a mission.
SPONSOR A MISSION
DOCARE missions have, until now, been sponsored by members of our Board of Directors. Due to the increase in the number of interested volunteers, along with a more pronounced need for care, we are hoping to recruit DOCARE members who do not sit on the Board to sponsor missions.
If you are interested in sponsoring a mission, please read through this presentation, which outlines the steps necessary to plan and execute a mission. If you have any questions, DOCARE Staff and the Board of Directors are also available to you as a resource.
NETWORKING
Networking is a great, lesser-known way to help out DOCARE. We need you, our members and non-members, to visit our Facebook and Twitter sites and regularly contribute content. We need your pictures, your stories, your questions, and your comments. If you're going on a mission, or if you're organizing an event for past or future mission volunteers, send us a Tweet about it! Post your suggestions on the Facebook page. Become a Fan of DOCARE. Networking is a great way to learn more about the organization and your fellow members.
STUDENTS
Students have a special opportunity to become involved in DOCARE. One option is to join a Student Chapter. We also encourage you to utilize the social networking tools described in the paragraph above.
OTHER WAYS TO HELP
DOCARE also accepts many other types of support, including financial contributions and donations of medical equipment and supplies. For more information on the types of supplies we need, or how to donate, just send us an email.
